The Rebels - Book One

Two confederates meet on the battlefield and become friends during the Civil War. After the conflict is over, the men go West to make a new start. War-weary and restless, they find it hard to settle down.

Their journey takes them to Texas where they find work as rangers, then to Kansas, hunting buffalo, and finally to Montana, to see and experience the gold camps there.

Pardners- Book Two

The early 1880's finds Frank and Matthew, with their adopted son, Toby, working to make a stake hunting buffalo on the Montana Plains.

They run afoul of Stringer Jack's band of horse thieves as they attempt to start a horse ranch on the Yellowstone River, hoping to sell mounts to Fort Keogh's cavalry.

Numerous Huffman photos complement the text.

T. S. Grounds - Book Three

Toby Grounds, the adopted boy, starts out on his own. He finds work with Theodore Roosevelt on his ranch in North Dakota, and follows him to Cuba into the maelstrom of the Spanish-American War. Later, he participates in the Phillipines Campaign, battling the fierce Insurrectos.

Home again, a bitter love affair causes him to respond to Roosevelt's request for help with the plight of American missionaries in China, as they become engulfed in the Boxer Rebellion.

Toby comes home to take up ranching again, only to succumb to his need for money, which drives him into a bounty chase for outlaws in Montana's south country.

Home Ranch - Book Four

Last in the series, this book continues the famly saga into the 1960s where Toby's son, Matthew, struggles to build a ranch, pursuing his father's dream. He passes on his love of the land and strong will to survive to his son, Gable, who endures the Korean War to find his own destiny.

Throughout the entire series, the reader will anxiously turn pages until the very end.

Home Ranch includes some superb pencil illustrations by well known Montana artist, Don Greytak.
